ছেলে গুলো নুন, মেয়ে গুলো চিনি;
ছেলে রাগে ঝাল, মেয়ে মানে টক!
বুড়া গুলা ঝাঁঝ, বুড়ি কাটে বিনি;
বুড়া ঝাল ঝাড়ে, বুড়ি বক বক!

দেহ কাঁপে নুনে, চিনি নেশা আনে;
হৃদে মেদ জমে, আয়ু যায় ক্ষয়ে!
চিনি-নুনে মিলে কান ধরে টানে;
দেহ চলে গেলে কার যায় ব'য়ে?

কতো গুণী জন কতো কথা বলে;
নুনে বাড়ে চাপ, চিনি ভালো নয়!
দেহ ভারী হয়, মন তবু চলে;
মোহে দ্রোহে বুঝি জীবনেরই জয়?

দেখা যেতে পারে কতো দিন চলে;
নানা মতে পথে, নানা কিছু শেখা!
জয় পরাজয়, ছলে কৌশলে--
হৃদয়েরই গান, কবে হবে লেখা?

A Musician, a Drunkard
Losing track to go forward
Dared to drink life and music
To its full brim!
Discovered musical gem in someone -
Who was denied by everyone else
To give a chance proving her musical prowess!

Music - such an art!
All elusive tacts - at times covert!
The perilous passion with daring dedication,
The prudent practice with daily discipline-
Life long rituals for all Musicians!
Art for Life sake? Or Life for Art?
When is it obvious? When so covert?

Cutting across all 'romantic hooplas',
And the Bolywood stereotypes --
With serendipity, mishaps, hoodlums
And all social stigmas, love, joy and deep sorrows,
The Success, the Jubilations,
The Failure, the Frustrations,
Ends the Musical with many superb songs!
The Moral of the story prevails -
That Life may end, but Passion survives!
That Musician may die, but Music never ends!
That the spirit of music transcends through successors!
