A Poet in Oblivion! - 1

A Poet in Oblivion! - 1
(Will somebody ever discover me...?)

Will my poetry grow in this world?
And also will it glow?
Will people ever remember my poems?
Or at least, will they read or know?
Everybody writes these days!
Everybody rhymes!
How will I be distinct?
How will I signify my Times?
Shall I water-paint the Beauty - Impulsive and Ephemeral?
Shall I sculpt the Beauty - Classic and Eternal?
Or Shall I try all - whatever pleases me?
Not worrying anything - whatever the Time be!

"Not All Poets are Poets" - declares
One of the purest Bangla Poets
The Great Jibonando Das!
Alas! didn't get his due credits
In his LifeTime!
But millions are still quoting him
Daily in social networks - these days!
Another Great Hero - our Modhu
The Great Michael Modhusudan Datta!
Still not sung well, not being followed
By many - as he should have been!
His English Poems and Verse-Novels
Are gems and unappreciated Jewels!
Bangla got rich with Modhu's return!
What a turn he made, What an Impact!
Innovated Blank-Verse and Liberated
Bangla with Great Drama and Epics!
Modhusudan - An inspiration for the World!
Should be quoted and practiced more
Not only by the Literary Critics!

So where do I go?
Start copying the Masters?
Rest and Practice under their Great Banyan Trees?
Or look for my Styles? For my Forms?
Start questioning the old, start creating new Norms?
Will my Muse mull over me until my ultimate lull?
Will Goddess Saraswati flow
Through me with her divine river?
Or her mortal hoodlums will cry out for my skull?
As to make me another M F Husain!
Ah! What a shame! What a disdain!
Uprooting the sun of the soil - one of the Best!
Died in desert, Mother not giving the ultimate Rest!
Shall I be true to the Art and my rebel Heart?
Even at the cost of Exile or Life?
How do I carve the design of Poems
Foaming inside me now and then?
Extract the words - gone to Heaven?

O my reader from future, have you read me so far?
Then I bow you bending on my knee
If my poetry doesn't please you
I seek my sincerest apology!
Give me better words, better forms - O my Muse, I beg Thee!
